Acacia Luxury Transport is seeking permanent and casual drivers. We are looking for drivers who are customer focused for Day Tours & Day Charters operating from Darwin, NT.

Duties include but not limited to:
  • Safe transportation of passengers to various points of interest throughout the Territory and interstate
  • Liaising with tour leaders, guides and co-ordinators to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain high level of vehicle presentation
  • Customer luggage handling

Obtaining an “H” Endorsement

Once you have your NT Driver’s licence, you will need an “H” Endorsement. This endorsement allows you to drive “for Hire or Reward” The process is quite simple;

  1. Visit a local GP in the Northern Territory, submit for a medical check with this form (L02 Medical Check)
  2. Submit both this form (CPVF05 – the Application) with this form (PF165 – Criminal History Check) and your Medical Check from Step 1 to the local office of the Motor Vehicle Registry
  3. Successfully complete a Theory Test at the same Motor Vehicle Registry
  4. Wait about 10 Days from step 2 for the results of your Criminal History Check – and you are all set to go.

Relocating from Interstate

Once you have relocated to the Northern Territory, your licence and drivers authority (or equivalent to the NT “H” endorsement) is valid for a period of 3 months, in which time you must either transfer to an NT Licence or leave the NT. Transferring your licence is a simple process;

  1. Visit the local Motor Vehicle Registry and complete the L1 Application Form

Obtaining An “LR” Licence Once you have had your Driver’s licence for a minimum 12 months you can apply for an LR (Light Rigid) licence. This licence allows you to drive a two axle vehicle with a GVM up to 8 tonne. The process is a simple 1 step process;

  1. Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a practical driving assessment in an LR class vehicle.

Obtaining An “MR” Licence Once you have had your Driver’s licence for a minimum 12 months you can apply for an MR (Light Rigid) licence. This licence allows you to drive a two axle vehicle with a GVM over 8 tonne. The process is a simple 2 step process;

  1. Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a theoretical heavy vehicle test.
  2. Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a practical driving assessment in an MR class vehicle.

Obtaining An “HR” Licence Once you have your Driver’s licence for a minimum 24 months you can apply for an HR (Light Rigid) licence. This licence allows you to drive a three axle vehicle with a GVM over 8 tonne. The process is a simple 2 step process;

  1. Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a theoretical heavy vehicle test.
  2. Book with the Motor Vehicle Registry and successfully pass a practical driving assessment in an HR class vehicle.
